Everything in Reblend 2.0

Spectral light

Real light, real color

Reblend renders light wavelength by wavelength, so colors change under each lamp the way they do in real life.

Ten colored spheres in four rows, rendered in Cycles under daylight, tungsten, white LED and high-pressure sodium The same four rows rendered in Reblend: the colors shift with each lamp, most of all under sodium CyclesReblend DaylightTungstenWhite LEDSodium
Real lampsStandard daylight, tungsten, LED, fluorescent and sodium lamps, single-wavelength light and your own measured spectra.
Light unitsSet lights in watts, lumens, candela, nits or lux.
DispersionGlass, water and gems split light into color. Set it on the Principled BSDF or on Reblend Surface.
DiffractionCDs, DVDs, holographic foil and fine grooves of your own, in every render method.
FluorescenceBrightened papers, paints and dyes glow under UV and blue light.
Measured colors and metalsPick a real material's measured color, or one of 37 measured metals.
Thin filmSoap bubbles, oil on water and coated glass.

Caustics

Light through glass

Three methods render the light that passes through glass, liquid and water. Pick one in Render Properties.

A glass ball in sun rendered with Path Tracing: its shadow shows almost no causticThe same glass ball with Photon Caustics: bright caustics fill its shadowPath TracingPhoton Caustics
A glass French press rendered with Path TracingThe same French press with Bidirectional and Vertex Merging: clean caustics in its shadowPath TracingBidirectional
Photon CausticsSharp caustics from glass, water and gems.
BidirectionalFor scenes lit through glass, small lamps and light in liquids. Turn on Vertex Merging for the hardest cases.
Glass and liquid togetherA drink in a glass renders right without separating the surfaces.
Path guiding on the GPULess noise in rooms lit by bounced light.
BakesCaustics and light paths in baked textures too.

Camera

A real camera

Put a real lens on the camera, a real film format behind it, and a film stock in it.

Colored spheres on a checkerboard through a fast 50 mm lens at f/1.2 The same spheres through an anamorphic lens The same spheres through a 16 mm fisheye
Three street lamps at night with starbursts and flare from real lens glass
Real lenses77 lens designs, from vintage portrait lenses to cinema primes, anamorphics and fisheyes, each with its own bokeh, distortion, vignetting and focus.
Lens flareGhosts and glare from the chosen lens, including lights outside the frame, the sky and glowing objects.
Lens conditionPristine, Clean, Used or Worn, from a crisp image to a soft veil of glare.
Film formats23 real film gates and sensors, from 35 mm to 65 mm and IMAX.
Film stocks8 stocks with their sharpness and grain, and halation around bright lights.
ExposureExpose by ISO and shutter, like a real camera.
Camera effects after the renderChange lens condition, flare and film on a finished render without rendering again.

Workflow

Nothing to relearn

Your Cycles scenes, materials and lights render in Reblend as they are. You keep working the way you do now and gain spectral light, caustics and real lenses.

Cycles scenesRender with their own materials, lights and settings. Principled BSDF and the other Cycles shader nodes keep their Cycles look, in spectral light. Switch a scene back to Cycles any time.
Octane scenesRender with their Octane materials, textures, lights, environments and camera settings. Reblend flags anything it doesn't support yet.
Fast updatesThe rendered viewport keeps up while you move lights and objects.
App or addonReblend's own Blender 5.3, or an addon for Blender 5.2 and 5.3.
Every platformmacOS with Apple GPUs, Windows and Linux with NVIDIA and AMD GPUs. Several GPUs render together.

Materials

One node for every material

Your Cycles materials render as they do in Cycles. For a physically exact material, use Reblend Surface.

Reblend SurfaceOne node for every physical material, with presets for glass, water, diamond, metals and more, and one click to convert a Principled BSDF.
Cycles nodesPrincipled, Glass, Metallic and every other Cycles shader node render as in Cycles.
Material libraryReady materials in Blender's Asset Browser, added when you activate Reblend.
Edge WearWorn edges on any material.

Cutaways

Cut objects open

CuttersCut away part of any object at render time, with solid caps, without touching the geometry.
